I've been sitting here in a hotel room and reflecting on the past year. 2009 was a very tough 12 months for me. So much to push through and so many situations to try and find the word 'rest' in. As 2010 rises into the now I find simplicity is what settles around me. Maybe because with weakness and exhaustion what remains sometimes is the simple truths of what is key, to progression. Pure rest. The Psalms are full of the human cry and the spirits reach in truth. The wondering of the whereabouts of God and then the exaltation's of his Glory and Divinity being the focal point. The mystery's of God still being searched out by flesh and spirit in their collide to find meaning, understanding and gain maturity.

I find myself in great sighs at how beautiful is the bruise of long winters and short springs. There is no straight path to take without hiccups. My focus has to be a straight forward, not going to give up a goal, of whatever I am handed I will find a melody in. I want wholeness for the sake of holiness. I want truth for the sake of freedom. I want information for the sake of growth. I want rightness for the sake of righteousness. I want healing for the sake of testimony. I want God more then anything else.

Just Thoughts today.......

  1. Thank you for sharing. Your sentiments echo those of many who have walked through the desert of last year and are praying for rain. God has often used your words to encourage and inspire me. I look forward to seeing what the new year brings for you and for the Body.

  2. My last years was filled with much joy and sorrow... Out of it flowed rivers of songs, prayers, devotions, so I am not dissapointed. I know your ministry and your heart... I love your single release idea... I decided to do that on my next project as well, a more intimate, real approach to adoration of Christ. I am praying God will bless you in every way!

  4. Thanks so much Rita, I hear you in so many ways of 2009 as I too have been pushing through the most hardest and painful times of my life. I just wrote a word myself along these lines that I will post to my FB page and my blog. It is the revisting the Hallway of rememberance of the promises of God.which it sounds to me like you have done that through the reflection of 2009. Many blessings to you.

  5. Rita...I have loved you since the fragrant oil days in Huntsville, AL. I knew my journey would never be the same after that, and indeed it hasn't been...it's been "hell"...HA!!...only for the sake of more heaven though...more reality of TRUE relationship, and a chance to know him as Belov-ed! Thank you for songs that sing through every season...for allowing the richest rhythm to pass through you...for living LIFE to the tune of true melody...and awakening the rest of us to do the same...it's not an easy dance but it's where the fragrance is! Just a tiny bit of it begins to fill our senses and it's crazy how intoxicating the crushing can be! So glad for your New Song...as a daughter of royalty, a mom to Justice, and an artist!...You may dwell in simplicity, but you bring Light to the nations!...may the coming spring rains reveal rich treasure for you and Justice!
